The history of the GLUETEC GROUP is shaped by entrepreneurial spirit, technical development and consistent investment in the future. What began in 1997 with the foundation of WIKO e.K. in Germany has developed over more than 25 years into an internationally oriented group of companies for adhesives, sealants, aerosols, cleaners, hygiene products and integrated adhesive solutions.
Today, the GLUETEC GROUP is one of the leading manufacturers and system suppliers for adhesives in Europe. As a hidden champion in the B2B sector, GLUETEC combines long-standing trading expertise with in-house development, modern production and specialised services along the value chain.
Milestones in the company's history
From Adhesive Distributor to Manufacturer and System Supplier
The company’s origins date back to the foundation of WIKO e.K. in 1997. Just a few years later, the foundation of GLUETEC GmbH & Co. KG in 2000 marked an important strategic step. GLUETEC built up expertise in the field of industrial adhesives at an early stage and continuously developed from a trading company into a provider of holistic adhesive solutions. A key milestone was the establishment of today’s company headquarters in Greußenheim in 2004. With the investment in the first automated filling line, the foundation was laid for the further expansion of the company’s own production and filling capabilities. The foundation of WIKO KLEBETECHNIK Sp. z o.o. in Poland in 2005 further strengthened the company’s international orientation and created new opportunities in production, assembly, contract filling and contract manufacturing.
Brands, Technologies and In-House Product Development
With the brand launch of WELDYX® MMA structural adhesives in 2009, GLUETEC made a clear statement for technical adhesive solutions in demanding industrial applications. The company consistently developed its role as an adhesive expert and systematically expanded its portfolio.
In 2011, the service portfolio was expanded to include private label design, packaging technology and assembly. This increasingly positioned GLUETEC as a full-service partner for customers from industry, trade and professional sectors. From product selection and packaging to labelling, contract filling, assembly and shipping, GLUETEC supports its customers with practical adhesive expertise and flexible solutions.
In 2012, the sales location GLUETEC d.o.o. in Slovenia was founded, and the German sites WIKO and GLUETEC were merged. This step bundled expertise, brands and sales structures and strengthened the joint market position.
Continuous Investment in Production, Research and Market Positioning
The GLUETEC GROUP has always driven its development through targeted investments. In 2016, the new production site in Poland was completed. Extensive investments in a new machinery park strengthened production capacities and laid the foundation for further growth.
In 2018, the three sites in Germany, Poland and Slovenia were consolidated under the GLUETEC GROUP. This created a group of companies in which development, production, sales and services are even more closely connected.
Another strategic milestone followed in 2019 with the investment in a new research and development laboratory in Greußenheim. The objective was to specifically expand the development of user-friendly polyurethane adhesives. In the same year, the brand relaunch of BLOCK BOND® hoof adhesives for cattle took place with an in-house PU formulation. This underlined GLUETEC’s ambition not only to trade products, but also to develop its own high-performance formulations for specific applications.
New Markets, New Technologies, New Capacities
From 2024 onwards, GLUETEC sharpened its focus on specialised applications and future-oriented product areas. With HOOF FIX, a new brand for bonding horseshoe applications was introduced. At the same time, a new WIKO product division for cleaners and hygiene products was established. This includes highly effective cleaners as well as workplace hygiene products such as hand wash pastes with perlite. They complement the existing portfolio of chemical-technical products for users in industry and professional trades. On the production side, an important step was also prepared in 2024: modernisation measures were implemented at the Polish site, and neighbouring land was acquired. This creates the foundation for GLUETEC to strategically expand future production capacities and respond even more flexibly to increasing demand.
In the same year, production in Poland was expanded with a new fully automatic filling line for 2K adhesives. This investment increases performance in contract manufacturing and strengthens the position of the GLUETEC GROUP as a reliable partner for industrial adhesive production, contract filling and private label solutions.
With the acquisition of the GLUETEC group of companies by ORYX CHEMICAL in 2025, a new chapter in the company’s history begins – built on a strong brand, established adhesive expertise and a clear focus on industrial customer requirements. In 2026, PURYX® Polyurea Adhesives followed as a technological milestone from the GLUETEC laboratory. The innovative adhesive technology stands for user-friendly formulations and is positioned as an alternative to MMA adhesives. This further expands GLUETEC’s expertise in the field of User-Friendly Products and strengthens the transformation from a traditional adhesive supplier into a development-driven manufacturer of modern adhesive technologies.

Today, the GLUETEC GROUP stands for integrated adhesive solutions in the B2B sector. The company combines many years of experience in trading chemical products for bonding and sealing with in-house development, high-performance formulations, modern filling technology and practical services. As a system supplier, GLUETEC supports customers in all aspects of product specification, packaging selection, product design, private label, contract filling, contract labelling, assembly and shipping. The products are used in a wide range of applications – from production and maintenance to repair and servicing.
