Powerful activation without DMPT
In the world of industrial adhesives, activators are indispensable tools for accelerating the curing of adhesives and achieving the best results. Their use becomes necessary under suboptimal environmental conditions, such as cold temperatures, low humidity, and thick adhesive layers. Pretreatment with an adhesive activator is also recommended when bonding highly absorbent and porous surfaces as well as inactive materials.
The latest generation of WIKO® ACTIVATORS stands out with an improved formulation that completely avoids the toxic ingredient N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine (DMPT). This allows us to offer you high-performance products that are not only efficient but also less toxic.
Why the new formulation matters
The adaptation of our activators to the latest CLP Regulation of the European Commission was not only a response to legal requirements, but also a step toward greater user protection. From September 2025, DMPT will be classified according to the 21st ATP (Adaptation to Technical Progress) with hazard statement H350 “May cause cancer,” and products containing it will therefore be barred from open sale.
