The history of the GLUETEC GROUP is characterized by entrepreneurial spirit, technical development and consistent investments in the future. What happened in 1997 with the founding of WIKO e.K. started in Germany, has developed over more than 25 years into an internationally oriented group of companies Adhesives, sealants, aerosols, cleaners, hygiene products and integrated adhesive solutions developed.
Today the GLUETEC GROUP is one of the leading manufacturers and system providers for adhesives in Europe. As Hidden champion in the B2B environment GLUETEC combines established trading expertise with its own development, modern production and specialized services along the value chain.
MILESTONES IN THE COMPANY’S HISTORY
From adhesive dealer to manufacturer and system provider
The origin of the company lies in the founding of WIKO e.K. in 1997. Just a few years later, the GLUETEC GmbH & Co. KG in 2000 an important strategic step. GLUETEC built up expertise in the area of industrial adhesives early on and continuously developed from a trading company into a provider of holistic adhesive solutions.
A key milestone was the construction of today's corporate headquarters in Greußenheim in 2004. With the investment in the first automated filling system, the foundation was laid for the further expansion of our own production and filling skills. The founding of WIKO KLEBETECHNIK Sp. z o.o. in Poland in 2005 additionally strengthened the international orientation and created new opportunities in production, packaging, contract filling and contract manufacturing.
Brands, technologies and own product development
With the brand launch of WELDYX® MMA structural adhesives In 2009, GLUETEC set a clear example for technical adhesive solutions in demanding industrial applications. The company consistently developed its role as an adhesives expert and specifically expanded its portfolio.
In 2011 the service offering was changed Private label design, packaging technology and assembly expanded. GLUETEC is thus increasingly positioning itself as a full-service partner for customers from industry, trade and commerce. From product selection to containers, labeling and contract filling to packaging and shipping, GLUETEC supports its customers with practical adhesive expertise and flexible solutions.
The sales location was founded in 2012 GLUETEC d.o.o. in Slovenia as well as the merger of the German locations WIKO and GLUETEC. This step bundled competencies, brands and sales structures and strengthened the common market position.
Continuous investments in production, research and market positioning
The GLUETEC GROUP has always driven its development forward through targeted investments. The new production site in Poland was built in 2016. Extensive investments in new machinery strengthened production capacities and laid the foundation for further growth.
In 2018 the three locations in Germany, Poland and Slovenia became GLUETEC GROUP merged. This created a group of companies that interlinks development, production, sales and services even more closely.
Another strategic milestone followed in 2019 with the investment in a new one Research and development laboratory in Greußenheim. The aim was to specifically expand the development of user-friendly polyurethane adhesives. In the same year, BLOCK BOND® was relaunched Hoof adhesives for cattle with our own PU formulation. GLUETEC thereby underlined its claim to not only trade products, but also to develop its own high-performance recipes for specific applications.
New markets, new technologies, new capacities
From 2024, GLUETEC sharpened its focus on specialized applications and future-oriented product areas. With HOOF FIX A new brand for bonding horse hoof shoes was introduced. At the same time, a new product division was created under WIKO Cleaners and hygiene products. These include, among other things, highly effective cleaners and products for industrial hygiene, such as hand washing pastes with perlite. They complement the existing portfolio of chemical-technical products for users from industry and trade.
An important step was also prepared on the production side in 2024: modernization measures were implemented at the Polish site and neighboring properties were acquired. In this way, GLUETEC creates the basis for specifically expanding future production capacities and serving increasing demand even more flexibly.
In the same year, production in Poland was expanded with a new fully automatic filling system for 2K adhesives. This investment increases performance in contract manufacturing and consolidates the position of the GLUETEC GROUP as a reliable partner for industrial adhesive production, contract filling and private label solutions.
With the takeover of the GLUETEC group of companies by ORYX CHEMICAL in 2025, a new chapter in the company's history begins - based on a strong brand, established adhesives expertise and a clear focus on industrial customer requirements.
2026 followed along PURYX® polyurea adhesives a technological milestone from the GLUETEC laboratory. The innovative adhesive technology stands for user-friendly recipes and positions itself as an alternative to MMA adhesives. In this way, GLUETEC is expanding its expertise in the area User-friendly products further expanding and strengthening the change from a classic adhesive provider to a strong manufacturer of modern adhesive technologies.
