Cattle hoof care is an important topic for all farms that keep cattle. Insufficient or uneven hoof wear, as well as overloading of individual claws, causes pain and can reduce the performance of a farm animal. Not infrequently, the consequences are diseases such as Mortellaro, sole ulcers, sole hemorrhages, etc. Only through regular, professional treatment of cattle hooves can diseases be prevented and the healing process of diseased cattle be supported. If sufficient relief of the diseased claw cannot be ensured by hoof trimming, a special wooden hoof block is glued onto the cattle hoof. Hoof blocks are the most important aid in achieving quick and effective pain relief for diseased claws.

This is exactly where BLOCK BOND® hoof adhesive from the GLUETEC GROUP sets completely new standards for hoof trimmers. BLOCK BOND® ensures that the block remains firmly attached to the hoof – the cow can walk with less pain and the hoof has enough time to heal. The two-component polyurethane adhesive was specially developed for hoof care and offers optimal bonding, even under the difficult conditions found in the barn. It is available in two versions: the standard BLOCK BOND® variant with 10-20 s processing time and now also in the faster BLOCK BOND® FAST variant with only 6-10 s processing time. This achieves reliable adhesion and accelerates the workflow in hoof care - for more pleasant working conditions for both people and animals.

Formula without potentially carcinogenic ingredients
The main advantage of BLOCK BOND®, developed by the GLUETEC GROUP at its German site, compared to other hoof adhesives available on the market, lies in the absence of potentially carcinogenic ingredients. This is gentler for the user and the cattle. The complete omission of the hazard statement H351 “Suspected of causing cancer” is a breakthrough for the user and the cow. BLOCK BOND® is one of the most user- and cow-friendly hoof adhesives on the market, making the GLUETEC GROUP a pioneer in the sector of user-friendly hoof adhesives.

No training certificate required for diisocyanates
For the user, there is another advantage to using BLOCK BOND® hoof adhesive. Extensive training (“isocyanate license”), which became mandatory for all users from August 24, 2023 for the safe use of diisocyanates, is not necessary for either of the two BLOCK BOND® adhesives. Due to the lower concentration of diisocyanates, individually and in combination, of less than 0.1 percent by weight, no additional training is required for use. Products from other manufacturers that exceed this limit may only be used industrially or commercially since summer 2023 if proof of successful training for the safe use of diisocyanates is available.

Application is quick and easy.
The adhesive is applied to a suitable wooden block and then pressed onto the hoof. Thanks to the short processing time, fast and secure fixation is ensured. With BLOCK BOND®, the treatment is completed after a maximum of 4 minutes and the hoof can bear weight again. With the new formula of BLOCK BOND® FAST, the treatment time is even reduced to a maximum of 90 s. Another added value is the wide temperature range of -10 °C to +30 °C for processing BLOCK BOND®. This means the adhesive can also be used in winter at low temperatures. With a shelf life of 18 months, BLOCK BOND® clearly stands out from other adhesives available on the market.

Under the umbrella of the GLUETEC GROUP, the high-quality adhesive is developed in Germany and manufactured in the company’s own production facility in Poland.
