In adhesive technology, the fixing time describes the time that an adhesive needs to fix two workpieces until a first small load is possible. Once the fixing time has been reached, fixations can be released and the workpieces can be moved to further process steps. This condition is often referred to as hand tight. As a rule of thumb, it can be assumed that the fixing time is three to four times the open time.
