Hazardous substance

Hazardous substances are substances and mixtures that, due to their properties, can pose a risk to health, the environment or property. These include, for example, substances that are toxic, corrosive, flammable or explosive, but also those that have a carcinogenic or mutagenic effect.

The handling of hazardous substances therefore requires special protective measures to avoid endangering people and the environment. This includes, among other things, the provision of protective equipment, the training of employees, the labeling of hazardous substances and the creation of safety data sheets.

Companies are legally obliged to identify and evaluate hazardous substances and take appropriate protective measures to protect their employees and the environment from possible dangers.
