Shear forces are an important quantity in mechanics. They occur when forces act on a material in different directions, causing the material to deform. These forces are responsible for shearing the material and can vary in intensity depending on the shear rate. They occur in components with overlap bonding (see also shear strength). Furthermore, shear forces also occur with liquids, e.g. B. when mixing 2 components in a static mixer.
