N,N-Dimethyl-p-toluidine (DMPT)

N,N-Dimethyl-p-toluidine (DMPT) is a chemical compound commonly used in industry to cure plastics, resins and adhesives more quickly. However, despite its effectiveness, DMPT poses significant health risks: it can irritate the skin, eyes and respiratory tract and is suspected of being carcinogenic. In view of these risks and stricter legal requirements (e.g. under the REACH regulation), the use of DMPT is increasingly viewed as problematic. Modern companies are therefore turning to safer, more environmentally friendly alternatives and avoiding the use of DMPT wherever possible to protect employees and the environment.
