Prepolymer

Prepolymers are chemical compounds used in many different industries. They consist of a polyol and an isocyanate component that react with each other and form a partially cross-linked chemical bond. This compound is called a prepolymer.

Prepolymers find uses in many industries, including the manufacture of polymers, adhesives, coatings, sealants, and foams. In polyurethane production, prepolymers are used as an intermediate to produce polyurethane foams. They can also be used in adhesive manufacturing to improve adhesion of adhesives.

One advantage of prepolymers is that they make adhesives, foams and other products easier to handle and process. They can have long shelf lives, making them convenient to store and optimizing their use in production processes.

Furthermore, the properties of prepolymers can be changed by modifying the composition and type of raw materials used. This enables the production of prepolymers with different chemical and physical properties that are suitable for a wide range of applications.

Overall, prepolymers are an important component in the manufacture of many products used in a wide range of industries.
