shear forces
Shear forces are an important quantity in mechanics. They occur when forces approach a material in different directions, causing the material to deform.
These forces are responsible for the shearing of the material and can vary in intensity depending on the shear rate.-Shear forces occur in components with overlap bonding (see shear strength).
Furthermore, they also occur with liquids, e.g. when mixing 2 components in a static mixer.
