shear rate
Shear velocity is a term from fluid mechanics that describes the speed of shear in a flowing fluid. It is defined as the speed at which adjacent layers of a fluid move relative to each other. In other words, the shear rate indicates how fast fluid layers move past each other.
In bonding technology, the shear rate is taken into account when designing the static mixer in order to select it optimally for the application.
